TANGLEWOOD MIDDLE SCHOOL

MASCOT:  The Gator

SCHOOL COLORS:  Blue and Green

Tanglewood Middle School began in 1929 as Grady Elementary on the corner of Westheimer and Post Oak. In 1950, the school moved to its current location, and opened a brand-new campus to serve the families of this growing community.

The elementary school was closed in 1979, but reopened in 1992 as Grady Middle School. In 2012, construction was completed on Phase 1 of a $15 million reconstruction project which saw the original school building replaced with a state-of-the-art, two-story main building. Three years later, Phase 2 of the rebuild completed the campus' main classroom wing.

Tanglewood is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School Middle Years Programme campus, serving approximately 800 students from 25-30 countries around the world at any given time. For more information about our IB programme, please click here
